Dear Participants,
On behalf of Fencing Ireland and Veterans Fencing ireland, we are pleased to welcome you to the Veterans Irish Open 2026, an EVF Circuit Competition taking place on 30–31 May 2026 at:
UCD Sport Centre
Belfield, Dublin 4, Ireland (D04 K3C6)
1. Venue Information

- Venue opens daily from 08:00
- Venue closes at 18:00 on both days

2. Competition Schedule
Saturday, 30 May 2026
- Men’s Épée: Check-in closes 09:00 | Start 09:30
- Women’s Épée: Check-in closes 10:30 | Start 11:00
Sunday, 31 May 2026
- Foil (Men & Women): Check-in closes 09:00 | Start 09:30
- Sabre (Men & Women): Check-in closes 11:00 | Start 11:30
3. Transport and Access
From Dublin Airport
- Aircoach Route 700
- Stop: “UCD” (walking distance)
From Dublin City Centre
- Dublin Bus routes 39 and 39A
- Additional access via Stillorgan Road entrance (see campus map)
4. Important Travel Notice – Sunday, 31 May
The Women’s Mini Marathon may impact access:
- N11 entrance closed approx. 11:00–16:00
- Possible disruption to public transport
Recommendation:
- Use Clonskeagh entrance
- Allow extra travel time
- Consider taxis, especially for airport transfers
5. Parking
Free parking is available near the venue:

6. Competition Requirements
Participants must ensure:
- A completed and signed waiver/medical form is provided (you may bring your own or sign the document at registration)
- Equipment complies with FIE standards (800N clothing, 1600N masks)
- Awareness of P-Black rule: in case of a tied score, the higher-ranked fencer after poules wins
Equipment checks will be carried out by referees during the competition. An armoury table will also be available for minor fixes and equipment testing.
7. Additional Information
- Personal belongings remain the responsibility of each participant
- Water fountains and vending machines are available
